Meet Kevin Li
Welcome to my website, and thank you for visiting
I had the privilege of serving as an assistant to the late Councillor Cynthia Lai, where I gained firsthand experience helping residents navigate community issues and city services.
From China to New Zealand and eventually to Canada, my journey has given me a deep appreciation for diverse communities and the opportunities this country provides.
My experience in education, business, media, finance, and public service has taught me how to connect with people and understand the challenges they face every day.
Over the years, I have proudly supported local non-profit organizations and seniors’ services, including Mon Sheong and Yee Hong. I was a sub committee member of Mon Sheong Foundation and currently serve as an advisor to Scarborough Ontario Health Team(former SHN).
As your voice, I will work hard to make sure residents are heard and that our community has a strong voice at City Hall.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in science and Master’s degree in Business and Management (Economics).
I live with my wife, our two children, and our dog and cat.
Why I Am Running
After years of serving this community, I believe it’s time to do even more.
I had the privilege of working at City Hall as an assistant to the late Councillor Cynthia Lai from 2018 to 2022.
I learned a lot from her. Her dedication to residents, deep understanding of our community, and tireless commitment to public service continue to inspire me today.
I am committed to carrying forward her spirit of service by listening to residents, addressing community concerns, and working hard every day to make Scarborough North an even better place to live.
Even after leaving City Hall, residents continue to reach out to me when they need help with community issues. Some residents have even jokingly referred to me as the “unofficial councillor” because they often turn to me for help. They see me as someone they can rely on — approachable, practical, and ready to help.
Over the past eight years, I’ve been walking every part of Scarborough North, speaking with residents, listening to concerns, and helping helping residents with community concerns, city services, and everyday challenges.
I understand the issues that matter most to families: safety, affordability, reliable city services, seniors and youth.
More importantly, I understand how to work with people and deliver results.
But there is still so much more to do. Our community deserves strong, caring, and experienced representation at City Hall.
That’s why I am stepping forward to run for City Council.
